Driver dies in Providence after rollover crash, car fire

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Providence Fire Department said that a person died after a rollover crash on Interstate 95 South Sunday morning.

Firefighters responded to the area of exit 37B around 3 a.m. to find a multi-vehicle crash.

The department said one vehicle rolled over, was struck by two others, and then ignited.

The driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene, and two other victims were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Rhode Island State Police are investigating the incident.
