Driver ejected, killed in highway crash in New Bedford

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — A driver died after they were ejected in crash on a New Bedford highway early Thursday.
Massachusetts State Police said troopers responded to a crash around 4:15 a.m. on Route 140 north at Braley Road.
The agency said a 2006 Ford F-150 pickup truck was headed north toward exit 7. Just past the off-ramp, the truck hit a guardrail and went airborne.
The driver was ejected from the truck and died on scene.
Police said they don’t believe the driver was wearing a seat belt. Their name was not released.
The crash remains under investigation.
Police said the ramp was closed until about 7 a.m. amid the emergency response.
