Driver in Dartmouth crash identified

DARTMOUTH, MA (WLNE) – On Monday, around 9:55 a.m., Dartmouth Police responded to a call at the intersection of Slocum Road and Lexington Avenue to investigate a motor vehicle vs. bicyclist crash.
Once officials were on the scene police determined that an elderly female bicyclist from Dartmouth had been struck by a 2010 Volkswagen Beetle operated Kailee Ferreira, 18, from Dartmouth.
Police state that as a result of the crash, the elderly female was transported by ambulance to Rhode Island Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Currently, the cause of the incident is being investigated by the members of the Dartmouth Police Department Crash Reconstruction Unit.
At this time there is no information regarding either charges or the bicyclist medical status.
