Driver of tractor-trailer leaking human waste onto highway arrested after multiple crashes

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WLNE) — Connecticut State Police said the driver of a tractor-trailer that was leaking fecal matter onto Interstate-95 was arrested after slick conditions caused multiple crashes.
According to police, Shaky Joseph, 34, the operator of the tractor trailer, faces charges including driving with an unsecured load, reckless driving and 12 counts of reckless endangerment.
Officials said at approximately 10:33 p.m. Monday night, Joseph was driving north as the trailer attached to his Mack truck was spilling waste into the roadway. Multiple cars lost control and crashed on the interstate.
Two police cruisers were also struck by cars that lost control in the slick conditions. None of the drivers who crashed as a result of the spill were found to be responsible.
Joseph was arrested on the scene after being instructed by his employer to pull over and wait for state police. He was held on $25,000 bail and is schedules to return to court in August.
