Driver rushed to hospital after tree falls in West Warwick

WEST WARWICK, R.I (WLNE) – West Warwick fire department and other emergency responders had to free a driver trapped in their car Monday evening.

Crews responded to a reported incident at 330 Wakefield street at 4:50pm where they found a large tree that had fallen on top of a car, causing significant damage to the vehicle

Emergency responders extracted the driver, who was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

The identity of the driver has not been released and the car has been towed.
