Driver strikes RIPTA bus stop in Warwick

WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — The Warwick Police Department said an 18-year-old driver struck a RIPTA bus stop after allegedly speeding on Oakland Beach Avenue.

Marcelia Santoro was charged with reckless driving.

Police alleged that Santoro was driving between 60 mph and 75 mph in a 25 mph zone when she lost control and hit the bus stop.

The vehicle came to a stop when it hit a tree.

The department said there were no injuries.
