Drop in Rhode Island gas prices continues

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Ocean State gasoline prices are continuing to drop as summer wanes, according to AAA Northeast.
The average gas price in Rhode Island is down eight cents from last week, averaging $3.14 per gallon, 23 cents lower than a month ago, and 59 cents lower than a year ago.
RI’s average price is also 13 cents lower than the national average.
The continued drop in prices can be attributed to demand lagging below expectatio0ns over Labor Day and drops in stock and commodity markets.
