State officials are deciding Thursday whether to declare a statewide drought. Rainfall across the state remains well below average for this time of year.

Several communities are being told to limit their outdoor water use, avoid running their dishwasher and do laundry only for full loads.

The hardest hit areas right now are the southern and north west parts of state. The Drought Steering Committee is meeting Thursday to see if more communities will face water restrictions.
