Dry and Colder Sunday

After all of the rain ,we have lingering effects in terms of river flooding. The rivers expected to breach their banks are the Pawtuxet River in Cranston and the Wood River at Hope Valley. Both have a FLOOD WARNING in effect. For the Pawtuxet River, moderate flooding is forecast and it is expected to crest Monday evening at 11.5 ft, that’s 2.5 ft above flood stage. Areas affected will be low lying areas of Warwick including the River St. area, West Warwick and Cranston. The Wood River is expected to see minor flooding and the flood warning here is in effect through Tuesday morning. It is expected to crest at 6.9 ft Sunday evening and the flood stage here is 5 ft. Areas affected here include Dow Field in Hopkinton and low lying areas in Richmond. The rain will end by midnight and temperatures will drop into the 20s and lower-30s. Overnight into Sunday, it will be quite breezy. Sunday will be a blend of sunshine and clouds and temperatures will be much cooler, topping out near 40, and of course, with the winds, it will feel even colder. Tuesday will be pretty much the same with sun and clouds and cooler than average temps and a gusty breeze. Midweek welcomes back the 50s, The chance of rain also returns Wednesday through Friday.
