Drying Out This Afternoon
Another chance for storms tomorrow
Good morning!
The cold front that brought last night’s showers/storms is stalled out, and this is causing some lingering showers this morning. These showers are light and scattered, and should be gone by lunchtime at the latest. The clouds will hang around a bit longer into the afternoon, but those will eventually thin out as well allowing for some peeks of sunshine. It will be another hot and humid one, with temperatures in the 80s and dewpoints in the 70s, but this front will help to reduce the humidity a bit overnight into tomorrow. Overall, the forecast is looking good for tonight’s fireworks celebration in Providence!
Another cold front late tomorrow will knock down the humidity even more, but it comes with a chance for some evening showers/storms. Our thinking is that the best window for storms tomorrow will be around 5-9p. The good news is, these will be garden-variety thunderstorms – nothing severe. For that reason, if you have any plans outside tomorrow night (such as the New Bedford fireworks show), keep an eye to the sky.
Once we get to Independence Day itself, we are looking at a fantastic holiday weekend forecast with lots of sunshine in store. Humidity will be low Friday and Saturday, becoming muggier on Sunday. Next week looks like it will be off to a hot and humid start.
Have a great Wednesday!
