MANSFIELD, M.A. (WLNE) – A fire broke out in a Mansfield fire station Wednesday morning, an unlikely place for a fire to ignite.
The fire broke out right around 3 a.m., when one of their fire engines caught fire while in the bay, sending smoke everywhere.
Officials tell us, “they were notified that there was a fire via smoke detectors inside the building and the smell of smoke. They went down to find the fire in the apparatus bay involved with one of the vehicles. They began extinguishment and moving vehicles out.”
The fire has since been extinguished, but two fire fighters were sent to the hospital with smoke inhalation.
