Early morning shooting in Providence sends one to the hospital

PROVIDENCE, R.I (WLNE) – Providence police are investigating an early Monday morning shooting that sent one man to the hospital.

The shooting happened on Vandieman Avenue, off of Manton Avenue at 3:00 AM, police say.

According to the department, the victim was transported to Rhode Island Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say he is in “satisfactory condition.”

The ID of the victim has not been released and further details are not available at this time.
