Early morning vacant house fire in Westport deemed suspicious

WESTPORT, Mass. (WLNE) – An early morning fire on Forge Road at a home that was under construction has been deemed suspicious, according to he Westport Fire Department.
The fire department responded to the scene at 2:05 a.m. Wednesday to find the attached garage on fire, extending into the attic.
The crew knocked down the fire, and additional crews entered the home to extinguish the fire in approximately 20 minutes.
No one was injured.
Investigators remained on scene for several hours.
The Westport Fire Department and the State Fire Marshal’s Office is currently investigating the cause of the fire, and are offering up to a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
