East Greenwich Police release identity of victim who died after a motorcycle crash

EAST GREENWICH, R.I. (WLNE) — The East Greenwich Police Department has released the identity of the 52-year-old man who died from a motorcycle crash on June 27.

Police identified the victim as 52-year-old John Simeonie, of Cranston.

Officials said first responders were dispatched to South Country Trail around 11 p.m. for reports of a crash involving a car and a motorcycle.

Simeonie was taken to Kent Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said that a preliminary investigation found alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

East Greenwich police said the driver of the other vehicle is cooperating with the department.

No criminal charges have been filed.
