East Providence announces 2024 estate sale

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The City of East Providence’s Tax Collector announced that there will be a public auction held for the levy of properties with unpaid real estate tax at the Council Chambers located at East Providence City Hall on April 17, 2024 at 10:00 a.m.

The Tax Collector shared that each of the parcels of real estate will be sold for the payment of the assessed taxes.

Information on the taxes and amounts due on the several parcels will be announced at the sale.

The public auction will sell to the highest bidder.

According to the Tax Collector, if your property in which you have an interest is sold at tax sale, they you will have one year to redeem it through the Collector’s Office plus the tender of additional sale amounts.

After the passage of one year, you may redeem through the tax sale purchaser or foreclose your right of redemption.

All purchases must be made by cash or bank check.
