East Providence Fire Department to perform investigation on arrested firefighter

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The East Providence Fire Department said that it will perform an internal investigation on a firefighter who was recently arrested on “domestic charges.”

The department said it takes allegations against firefighter Ricky Tiburcio “seriously.”

“The East Providence Fire Department is dedicated to the safety and well-being of our community, and we will not tolerate any behavior that goes against our core values,” the department said in a statement. “We understand the concerns that may arise from such incidents and assure the public that we will act in a transparent and responsible manner as we gather more information.”
