East Providence mayor announces run for re-election

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — East Providence Mayor Bob DaSilva announced his run for re-election on Tuesday.

The official announcement took place at Amaral Custom Fabrication, followed by a tour of the facility.

Gov. Dan McKee, Lt. Gov. Sabina Matos, and members of the community also attended the event.

DaSilva was sworn in as East Providence’s first elected mayor in 2019. Before his election, the city was run by a city manager.
