East Providence police identify alleged operator in stolen car crash, 3 other individuals also arrested

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — East Providence Police have identified the man who allegedly operated and crashed a stolen car yesterday.

18-year-old Austin Pereira of Warwick was arrested on multiple charges, including; possession of a stolen vehicle, reckless driving or eluding police, duty to stop with an accident resulting, and obstructing an officer in execution of duty.

He and three additional individuals allegedly in the stolen vehicle were taken into custody by police.

According to police, Pereira will be arraigned today and additional charges may follow.
