East Providence residents finding white nationalist posters flyers outside homes
EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — East Providence residents say more posters looking to recruit for a white nationalist organization, called the Nationalist Social Club, have been turning up throughout the city.
This comes less than two weeks after two men were charged for hanging up similar recruitment posters near the Gordon School.
According to the ADL, this extremist group originated in Massachusetts by a handful of neo-Nazis and has since expanded chapters to five other states in the northeast including Rhode Island, Maine, Connecticut, New Hampshire, and Vermont.
On Wednesday, two towns in Massachusetts said they are also investigating into similar posters found throughout the towns.
East Providence city officials told ABC 6 News that they are aware of these reports and this remains an ongoing investigation.
