East Providence woman charged with stabbing neighbor

An East Providence woman has been arrested after allegedly stabbing and robbing her neighbor.

Police say Darlene Defeo, 52, is accused of stabbing her neighbor multiple times following an argument. The stabbing happened just before 11:30 p.m. Tuesday night.

The 58-year-old victim was taken to Rhode Island Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police have charged Defeo with assault with a deadly weapon inside a dwelling and armed robbery.
