BOSTON, Mass. (WLNE) — Enforcement and Removal Operations Boston arrested an unlawfully present Ecuadorian national in Fall River who was previously charged with assault in Somerset.

Daniel Parra, 30, was arrested on June 13 by deportation officers.

Parra initially unlawfully entered the United States on an unknown date, and was arrested on April 16, 2018 by Somerset, Massachusetts police on assault to murder – armed – knife, assault and battery – dangerous weapon, serious bodily injury and assault and battery charges.

Parra was released by Massachusetts state authorities before ERO Boston was able to take him into custody.

Parra was then arrested again in Fall River by officers from ERO Boston’s Providence field office on May 30, 2018.

Parra was ordered removed from the United States to Ecuador and was removed on August 17, 2018.

He then unlawfully re-entered the United States on an unknown date and was arrested by Massachusetts State Police in December of 2022 on his original felony arrest warrant.

The Fall River District Court released Parra from custody on January 12, 2023 after he posted $5,000 bail.

ERO Boston could not take custody of Parra due to inadequate notice notice from the court.

Upon his arrest on June 13, 2024 Parra was served with a notice to reinstate a prior removal order.
