Eight arrested after large crowd surrounds police at Narragansett Town Beach

NARRAGANSETT, R.I. (WLNE) – Police arrested eight people after a large crowd surrounded them at Narragansett Town Beach on Sunday afternoon.

Narragansett police Sgt. Keith Lagasse told ABC 6 that police arrested six adults and two juveniles for failing to disperse after getting multiple calls about disturbances at the beach around 2 p.m.; including at least one fight.

After being surrounded, Sgt. Lagasse said, they called for backup and 20 – 25 officers then disbursed the crowd and made the arrests.

Police say alcohol was a factor with the disturbances at the beach on Sunday.

The following adults were arrested and charged with the following:

  • Domenico Deluca, 19, of Cranston — disorderly conduct
  • Avery Defusco, 20, of Johnston — failure to disperse
  • Samuel Richardson, 18, of Old Lyme, CT — failure to disperse
  • Aiden Bordeleau, 19, of Cranston —  failure to disperse
  • Evan Rinald, 20, of Cranston — failure to disperse and possession of alcohol by a minor

Three juveniles aged 17 were also charged they are from North Kingstown, Providence and Johnston
