Eight Brown shooting victims remain hospitalized, all students

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Of the nine students wounded in the deadly Brown University shooting, one has been released from an area hospital, according to Brown President Christina Paxson.

Of the eight remaining under hospital care, seven are in critical but stable condition.

One victim remains in critical condition.

One person was hit by fragments from gunfire but was not directly struck.

There is no confirmation at this time if that person is a Brown student.

The Rhode Island Blood Center is urging residents to make donations following the shooting.

Organization officials said on social media that while appointments are full over the next few days, they are still encouraging residents to donate.
