Elderly pedestrian struck in East Providence

EAST RPOVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The East Providence Police Department said an elderly pedestrian was struck by a car on Taunton Avenue Friday evening.

Police said the pedestrian suffered serious injuries but was conscious and transported to the hospital.

The vehicle involved in the crash remained on scene and is cooperating with police.

The incident is still under investigation.
