Election demonstrations held as country waits for presidential results
BOSTON, M.A. (WLNE) — As the nation continues to wait for results in the presidential election, hundreds in Boston expressed their concerns about the President’s use of power Wednesday night.
Several small demonstrations were held Wednesday, including a nighttime march from Roxbury to Copley Square.
The march was organized by several activist groups and attended by hundreds, who named it the ‘Don’t Let Trump Steal the Election Rally.’
Protesters chanted and made noise, demanding election officials across the country count every vote, including all mail-in ballots.
Attendees said they were fearful about the presidents abuse of power, after his legal team filed suits in Pennsylvania, Michigan and Georgia.
Massachusetts currently has 1000 National Guard soldiers on standby incase protests start to get violent.
Dozens of stores in downtown Boston remain boarded up as a precaution.
Boston police Commissioner, William Gross, said the city is prepared for anything.
