Employee injured during attempted robbery at Providence sneaker store

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Officials are searching for an individual who attempted to rob Snipes on Reservoir Avenue in Providence yesterday.

According to police, around 4 p.m., an unidentified male entered the store and produced a firearm, demanding money from the register.

The victim was unable to open the register, and was allegedly struck twice in the head with the firearm cause injury.

The suspect, according to police, fled the store on foot.

From surveillance video it was determined that the suspect fled in a white Toyota Corolla.

Detectives are actively investigating this incident.
