Exclusive Karen Read interview to air tonight on ABC’s 20/20

DEDHAM, Mass. (WLNE) — Karen Read will be featured in an exclusive interview tonight on ABC’s 20/20 with Matt Gutman.

Read, a Mansfield woman, was charged with second degree murder after her police officer boyfriend, John O’Keefe, was found unresponsive in the snow of a Canton home.

Prosecutors argued throughout the trial that Read hit O’Keefe and left him to die in the snowstorm, while her defense team said she was framed.

The jury said they were able to reach a unanimous verdict, and the judge ultimately declared a mistrial.

Norfolk County prosecutors said that they do intend to retry Read for O’Keefe’s murder early next year.

The new 20/20 special will premiere tonight at 9:00 p.m. on ABC and will stream on Hulu.
