Exeter man dies following motorcycle crash

NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WLNE) — A 66-year-old Exeter man died after crashing his motorcycle into a tree Thursday evening.

Police say Harry Whitford lost control of his bike and veered off the road, hitting a tree in the area of Stony Lane and Burnt Cedar Drive just after 9:20 p.m.

He was pronounced dead at Kent County Hospital.

The cause of accident is under investigation at this time.
