PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A Johnston man has been given a citation by Rhode Island State Police after a tractor-trailer rollover accident on the ramp from I-95 North to Route 6.
Police say 43-year-old Artemio Cortez lost control of the tractor-trailer, which was carrying scrap metal, while heading toward Route 6 West, hit the guardrail and rolled over.
Cortez was cited for failure to maintain reasonable and prudent speeds.
The accident happened at approximately 1:40 p.m. The ramp onto exit 22 on I-95 North did not reopen until 9:00 p.m.
Crews worked to remove all scrap metal from the truck in order to lift the truck back to its proper upright position, State Police noted.
No injuries were reported, but the guard rail will need to be replaced.
