Extreme Heat Continues on Tuesday

We’re wrapping up day two of high temperatures in the 90s and feels-like temperatures in the triple digits, and we’re not done yet.

We’re still under Extreme Heat Warnings, which will continue through 8 PM tomorrow evening. Overnight tonight we’re mostly clear with lows in the low to mid 70s. Tomorrow, we wake up and the numbers just keep climbing. Expect a hot, hazy and humid day with highs in the low 90s for the coast, and mid 90s to triple digits inland. It will feel like it’s between 100-110 throughout the afternoon. An Air Quality Alert will also go into place tomorrow from 11 AM – 11 PM as the air under the influence of high pressure will remain stagnant.

The numbers go down on Wednesday, but it’ll still be hot with temperatures in the low 80s for the coast and upper 80s and low 90s inland. Most of the day remains mostly sunny as well, but we’ll finally find relief as a cold front comes through late Wednesday night. This front could throw some showers, and even a punchy thunderstorm or two our way very late Wednesday/very early Thursday morning. We’ll be keeping a close eye out for storms containing gusty winds and heavy rain.

The good news is, the temperatures drop significantly on Thursday, despite the unsettled pattern at the end of the week. Expect highs in the low and mid 70s through Saturday!
