Fairhaven triple-stabbing suspect held without bail

FAIRHAVEN, Mass. (WLNE) — A New Bedford man accused in a Sunday triple-stabbing incident in Fairhaven is being held without bail.

21-year-old Gavin Massas pleaded not guilty Wednesday to a long list of charges:

  • Assault and battery with dangerous weapon (firearm)
  • Assault with intent to murder with a firearm (two counts)
  • Assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (knife)
  • Assault and battery with a dangerous weapon with severe bodily injury (knife)
  • Carrying a loaded firearm without a license
  • Disorderly conduct
  • Disturbing the peace

Massas is accused of stabbing three people outside of a home on Cherry Street, leaving one in critical condition.

According to Fairhaven police, a firearm was found at the scene that they say belongs to Massas.
