Fall River: 2024 murder suspect who fled to Georgia to be arraigned

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — A Fall River man will be in court this morning to be arraigned on charges in connection to a 2024 murder.

32-year-old Kevin Barton is accused of shooting Joshua Medeiros in Fall River in February of 2024.

Medeiros was taken to an area hospital where he died six days later.

Barton was indicted later that May, but was not in custody at the time, and was later tracked down by the U.S. Marshals in Georgia.

Barton allegedly raised a gun to those Marshals who shot Barton and arrested him.

He faces firearm, murder and fugitive charges.

He’ll be arraigned at Fall River Superior Court Monday morning.
