Fall River, M.A. (WLNE) — The Fall River Board of Elections certified the signatures of more than 4,500 voters Tuesday to trigger a recall election.

The number is more than the 2,500 votes the board needed in order to allow the recall.

The mayor, Jasiel Correia, faces a federal indictment over accusations of de-frauding investors and using their money to support a “lavish lifestyle.”

He’s denied any wrongdoing.
