Fall River chase connected to shooting, Police say

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) – Fall River Police confirmed to Thursday that a high speed chase Wednesday afternoon is being investigated in connection to a shooting earlier in the week.

According to Police a 2018 Subaru Legacy with Tennessee license plates was observed on surveillance cameras in the area of a shooting on Monday afternoon.

After observing the same vehicle Wednesday afternoon, officers engaged in a pursuit after the driver failed to stop.

The suspect vehicle was pursued through Fall River, Freetown and along Route 24 before the vehicle was found abandoned near the Italian Progressive Club on Slade Street in Fall River.

Two individuals, believed to be males, were seen exiting the vehicle and fleeing the scene on foot.

According to Police, the suspects were seen fleeing in opposite directions, one wearing jeans and a red hooded sweatshirt, and the other wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and jeans.

Massachusetts State Airwing and Fall River Police K9 Units were deployed in an attempt to track the suspects, but were unsuccessful.  

Fall River towed the suspect vehicle to the Police Department for further investigation.

No arrests have been made at this time.
