Fall River dog attack leaves father and son injured

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — A father and son are recovering this morning following a dog attack on Saturday night in Fall River.

According to police, a young child and his parents were bit by a dog on Aetna Street.

The child and his mom were walking into their home while a neighbor was walking out their leashed dog.

The boy was allegedly startled by the dog, and the dog bit him.

The dad heard all of the commotion and tried to provide help, but was also bit during the incident.

The child and his dad were treated for non-life-threatening injuries at Rhode Island Hospital.

Animal control did respond to the home to take the dog into custody.
