Fall River fire overnight leaves family displaced

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — A family has been displaced following an overnight fire in Fall River.
According to the fire department, emergency responders were dispatched to a home on Brown around 2 a.m. to find a heavy fire from the first floor of a 2-story structure.
A 59-year-old woman was discovered with minor burns to her head, while her 39-year-old son had serious burns all over his body from going in to rescue her prior to firefighter’s arrival.
According to department, the fire was knocked down quickly but the damage was significant.
Investigators were on scene for most of the night, and an investigation into the start of the fire is currently ongoing.
