Fall River man arrested on Route 93 in Boston after pointing gun at driver

FALL RIVER, Mass. – Massachusetts State Police responded to Route 93 in Boston after a 911 call of a road rage incident Sunday afternoon.
At approximately 3:30 p.m., the caller reported a man in a Kia Forte pulled a handgun from his vehicle and pointed it at the driver of another vehicle.
Police stopped the Kia on Route 93 Southbound near Exit 15 in Boston and arrested Gary Moniz, 64, of Fall River.
Upon investigation, police found a loaded 9mm Beretta handgun in the vehicle.
Moniz was found to not have a license to carry a firearm in Massachusetts.
Moniz was charged with:
- ASSAULT WITH A DANGEROUS WEAPON
- UNLAWFUL POSSESION OF A FIREARM WITHOUT A LICENSE
- UNLAWFUL POSSESION OF AMMUNITION WITHOUT A PERMIT
Moniz is set to appear Monday morning in Dorchester District Court.
