FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — The United States Attorney’s Office said a Fall River man was charged with selling drugs and machineguns that he advertised on the Telegram app.

26-year-old Benjamin Hunt was charged with three counts of distribution of controlled substances and one count of transferring machineguns.

The office said that Hunt would advertise on the app and then ship the drugs and guns nationwide in exchange for Bitcoin.

He allegedly sold  counterfeit pharmaceutical pills containing fentanyl and other drugs as well as self-produced ghost guns and machinegun conversion switches.

Hunt allegedly used Telegram to sell  counterfeit pills containing fentanyl as well as a Glock-type privately made firearm without a serial number, two switches, an extended magazine and 3D printed brass knuckles to undercover law officers and shipped them via U.S. mail.

He was arrested on Aug. 28 and is expected in court on Sept. 5.
