Fall River man convicted of performing unlicensed commercial hood cleaning services

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — Bristol County Attorney General Thomas Quinn said a Fall River man was convicted of performing uncertified commercial hood cleaning services for restaurants.
62-year-old Antonio Borges, the former owner of Borges Cleaning Pro, was sentenced to the Bristol County House of Correction for one year, with 90 days to serve and the remaining time suspended for two years.
Quinn said that investigators discovered that Borges used fraudulent inspection stickers at at least seven Fall River businesses.
The complaints stated that between April 2022 and October 2023 Borges performed uncertified commercial hood cleaning services at local restaurants, forging the inspection stickers of certified companies.
Borges’ license for cleaning was suspended for four years on Feb. 3, 2022, and then revoked by the Massachusetts State Fire Marshall on Sept. 29, 2022.
Quinn added that if Borges is arrested in the next two years, he would be liable to serve the remainder of the one-year sentence.
