Fall River man sentenced after pleading guilty to child rape

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — A Fall River man was sentenced on Sept. 25 after he pled guilty to raping a 14-year-old child in 2023, according to Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn.

38-year-old Trevon Hector, of Fall River, was sentenced to five to seven years in State Prison for three counts of rape and abuse to a child and a concurrent sentence of four and a half to five years for possession of child pornography.

In August of 2023, the 14-year-old victim had ran away from her group home in Fall River and attempted to hitchhike to Brockton to see her biological mother.

Hector, who was 36 at the time of the incident, had pulled over and spoke to the victim, who said she was 18 years old.

He agreed to give the victim a ride, but instead of driving her to see her mom, went to the Riverview Inn and Suites in Somerset.

Hector rented a room and gave the 14-year-old victim about five drinks, which consisted of alcohol and orange juice.

According to Quinn, the victim said she felt intoxicated and “could not move, could not see straight and kept falling asleep.”

Throughout the night, Hector raped the victim numerous times, according to Quinn.

In the morning, the victim called a friend, who advised her to call the police.

When police arrived, Hector walked out of the hotel and “admitted to officers that he had spent the night with the victim,” Quinn said.

At the police station, the defendant told police “that in the eyes of the law, he had done something wrong.”

Police obtained a search warrant for Hectors phone and found three photos of the victim, “unconscious on the bed with her breasts exposed.”

Inside the hotel room, detectives found used condoms, condom wrappers, and an empty bottle of male performance liquid.

The victim was taken to the hospital, where biological evidence was recovered for a sexual assault forensic evident kit.

Hector’s DNA matched the evidence, according to Quinn.

“The defendant plied the victim with alcohol and then sexually assaulted her. I am pleased that the defendant pled guilty and accepted responsibility without the victim having to testify,” District Attorney Quinn said.
