Fall River man sentenced to 18 months for shooting woman

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — Bristol Count District Attorney Thomas Quinn, III said that a Fall River man was sentenced for shooting a woman in a motor vehicle.

19-year-old Treshon Pugh was charged with assault and battery by discharge of a firearm, assault and battery causing serious bodily injury, unlawful carrying of a firearm, unlicensed possession of a loaded firearm and wanton destruction of property.

Quinn said that on June 16, 2024, an 18-year-old female was being treated for a gunshot wound to the back, and said that she was in a vehicle being driven by her sister with Pugh, who then shot her.

Pugh then threw the firearm out of the vehicle’s window, and he did not possess a license for the weapon.

Quinn said the victim and her sister indicated they believed the shooting was accidental as there was no argument or altercation going on just prior to the shooting.

Pugh was sentenced to 18 months in prison followed by two years of supervised probation.
