Fall River police announce passing of former K9 Joseph
FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — The Fall River Police Department has announced the passing of a former city K9 who retired from the FRPD in 2021.
Former K9 Joseph passed away on July 25, according to a Facebook post from the department.
Joseph was partnered with Fall River police officer Kevin Lopes where the pair worked tracking missing persons and providing backup on calls.
Joseph joined Officer Lopes’ family after leaving the FRPD.
The social media statement concludes:
Thank you, K9 Joseph, for your unwavering loyalty, bravery, and dedication to our department and community. You were a protector, a partner, and above all, a friend. You will be missed.
