Fall River Police arrest 2 men in connection with stabbing

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — The Fall River Police Department said that it arrested two men in connection with a stabbing that occurred on March 7.

48-year-old Barry Cabral was charged with assault and battery with serious bodily injury, while 31-year-old Erik Getchell was charged with accessory after the fact as well as on several warrants.

Police responded to the Cottell Heights Housing Development around 8:45 p.m. to find a man suffering from a stab wound to the chest.

The man was transported to the hospital for treatment and was in “stable but critical condition.”

Police then conducted interviews and collected evidence and found that the stabbing occurred after an altercation.

Both suspects were then taken into custody, and Cabral was held on $50,000 bail.
