Fall River police arrest man, 3 juveniles on firearms charges

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — The Fall River Police Department said that it arrested an adult man alongside three juveniles during surveillance conducted by the Vice, Gang, and Intelligence Unit.

20-year-old Angel Andres Martinez Malave was charged with carrying a firearm without a license to carry, carrying a loaded firearm without a license to carry, possession of a large capacity firearm, person under 21 in possession of alcohol, and conspiracy.

The arrests came after detectives responded to the area of the Maple Gardens Housing development for reports of a 16-year-old with a firearm.

A traffic stop resulted in the arrest of the four individuals.

The first juvenile, a 16-year-old male, was charged with carrying a firearm without a license to carry, carrying a loaded firearm without a license to carry, possession of a large capacity firearm, and conspiracy.

The second juvenile, also a 16-year-old male, was charged with carrying a firearm without a license, disorderly conduct, carrying a loaded firearm without a license to carry, possession of a large capacity firearm, assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest, minor in possession of a BB gun, disturbing the peace while armed, and conspiracy.

Police said this suspect also had an outstanding arrest warrant.

The third juvenile, a 17-year-old female, was charged with carrying a firearm without a license to carry, carrying a loaded firearm without a license to carry, possession of a large capacity firearm, possession of self-defense spray by a youthful offender, disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace while armed, resisting arrest, and conspiracy.
