Fall River police arrest man for illegally carrying handgun

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — Fall River police arrested a man on Sunday for illegally carrying a handgun.

Officers pulled over a car for failing to stop at the intersection of Morgan and Second Streets.

The driver did not have a registration for the car, police said. At the time, police also noticed the passenger reaching for something.

After asking the passenger to step out of the car, police found a jacket with a handgun inside the pocket.

Robert Bruton, 22, was arrested for felony firearms offenses. Police said Bruton did not have a license to carry the gun.
