Fall River Police arrest man with ‘lengthy criminal history’ twice in 2 days

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — The Fall River Police Department said officers arrested a man with a “lengthy criminal history” twice in two days.
Fall River police said officers arrested 34-year-old Vincent Valois on Aug. 18 and 19.
On the morning of Aug. 18, officers investigated reports of trespassing and conducted a check behind a boutique and restaurant on Second Street.
During the check, officers found multiple people behind the businesses, including Valois, who allegedly led officers on a foot pursuit.
Police were able to arrest Valois and charge him with trespassing.
Police added that Valois has a “lengthy criminal history” and had “several outstanding warrants.”
On Tuesday afternoon, officers responded to the area of Second Street and Wade Street for reports of a man suffered a stab wound to his leg, Fall River police said.
Upon arrival, Fall River police said officers found Valois “bleeding from his leg, acting belligerent, and refusing repeated commands to stop and show his hands.”
Despite giving multiple commands and warnings for safety, Fall River police said Valois “advanced towards officers in an aggressive manner, at one point demanding to be ‘shot.'”
After police unsuccessfully attempted to stop Valois using tasers, officers were able to bring the defendant to the ground and take him into custody.
During a medical evaluation, police allegedly found Valois in possession of about one gram of powdered cocaine and 0.8 grams of crack cocaine.
Valois declined medical treatment and was taken to the Fall River Police Department for booking.
