Fall River Police arrest shooter in convenience store murder

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE)- The Fall River Police Department has arrested the shooter in a convenience store murder that happened last month, according to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.

Nelson Coelho, 37, allegedly shot and killed the owner of Stop N Save in Fall River on October 18. He was arrested on October 26.

Coelho is facing the following charges:

  • Murder
  • Armed and masked robbery
  • Carrying an illegal firearm

A criminal complaint against Coelho was filed in Fall River District Court on Thursday.

It is unclear whether he will be arraigned Thursday or at a later date.
