Fall River Police arrest teen for firearm possession near school
FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — The Fall River Police Department said that a teenager was arrested for firearm possession.
The 17-year-old was charged with carrying a loaded firearm in public without a license , possession of a firearm without a license, possession of ammunition, and resisting arrest.
Officer said they were conducting patrols around the Resiliency Preparatory Academy around 11 a.m. on Sept. 11 when they observed a group of juveniles “known to them” across from school grounds.
The officers spoke to the juveniles, and frisked one who was “behaving inconsistently with previous interactions.”
Police said the search found a loaded Cobra .380 firearm, and added that the teenager tried to fight police to avoid being arrested.
The officers said two of them received “minor injuries.’
