Fall River police investigating after 21-year-old shot near Wamsutta Playground

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — The Fall River Police Department confirmed it is investigating a shooting Wednesday night.

According to a spokesperson for the department, officers responded to the area of the Wamsutta Playground near Quequechan Street for reports of multiple shots fired in that area.

When first responders arrived to the scene, they said they found a 21-year-old man had been shot in the leg.

The victim’s injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
