Fall River police investigating Flint neighborhood shooting death

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — A man was shot and killed Saturday in Fall River.

The Bristol County District Attorney’s Office announced Sunday night that 31-year-old Taiquan Teixeira died in a shooting on Pleasant Street.

Police were originally called to the area around 4:30 p.m. Saturday for reports of two men fighting.

Officials said responding officers found Teixeira unconscious with a gunshot wound near Leonard’s Package Store.

The Fall River resident was rushed to a local hospital, where he died a few hours later, according to the district attorney’s office.

Massachusetts State Police and the Fall River Police Department are assisting with the investigation.

Officials did not release any information on a suspect Sunday night.
